P4 Maths practice Singapore — every MOE syllabus topic

Primary 4 is the quiet year of upper primary Maths — after the P1–P3 foundations, before the P5 jump — and that's exactly what makes it valuable. The concepts your child builds now (fractions, decimals, factors and multiples, area and perimeter) are the load-bearing walls for P5 and P6. A gap left open in P4 doesn't announce itself; it shows up eighteen months later as "suddenly weak in ratio".

P4 is also the last relatively low-stakes year to fix things calmly. The same weakness costs a weekend to close now, and a stressful month in P6.

What to watch this year

Fractions is the topic with the longest shadow — equivalence and mixed numbers feed everything after. Decimals and measurement build the number sense that P5 percentage assumes. And the word-problem habit (draw the model, don't hold it in your head) is far easier to install at P4 than to retrofit at P6.
